The one where I use D for danger and Chili for spring!

18 March 2017

I love dark lips! I love the idea of a simple outfit with beautiful glowing skin and that pop of color on your lips, whether it’s a red, a fuchsia pink or maybe a bright orange if you feel adventurous ... Doesn’t really matter! Whatever suits your mood. It makes such a statement and it makes your entire look so sophisticated without even trying too hard.

Also, because my lips are more on the thin side, it’s such an opportunity to cheat a bit and make them look fuller for the day. Great! right?

So now that it’s spring, well it’s starting to feel like spring a tiny little bit, I usually say goodbye to some of my beloved dark lipsticks because I don’t really think their colors compliment the good weather.

Here I show you two of my favorite fall lipsticks in my collection, D for danger (here) and Chili (here) from MAC Cosmetics, and how do I make them work for me for spring!

So basically, what I do is I just put on my lipstick like I would usually do, over-lining and all, and then I use a cotton pad to blot it down and calm it, then I just use my finger to work it into my lips and you end up with a beautiful ‘stain’ on your lips. And the cool thing about it is that you can sheer it down to the max or built it up a bit more to your liking.

D for danger (here) is an edgy berry lipstick, but it does look quite vampy which is “cool” for the cooler months; it’s just not really my cup of tea for spring and summer. When blotted down, it leaves you with the most beautiful pink berry stain.

Chili (here) on the other hand is a warm red, has the same texture as D for danger: matte, it is one of those rusty brick-orange reds that makes you think of autumn leaves. Blotted down, it leaves you with a reddish peachy stain.

If you did make it to the end of this post, I salute you! Thank you for stopping by and I hope this was helpful.

The one with the perfect nude

3 March 2017

Let’s talk about this amazing discovery of mine, basically I found the perfect nude combo to suit my pale skin: Charlotte Tilbury lipstick in Penelope pink (here) and MAC lipstick in Patisserie (here).

The Charlotte Tilbury one on its own washes me out, it literally blends my lips into my skin, and the MAC one is more on the browny side, so it’s not really a nude for me.

But when I put them together, on top of Charlotte Tilbury's lip linear in Pillow Talk (here), they are just WOW. But I’m pretty sure that the two of them are beautiful on their own for a different skin tone.

And it helps that they are so close when it comes to texture, both very creamy and smooth, although I must say that Pillow Talk is so much creamier, it’s like butter.

Okay confession time, today was a very windy day and it was raining too. So, this morning, I stepped outside in the terrace to take a couple of selfies for this post, okay not a couple, a few.. a lot! and you know the struggle of long hair and creamy lipstick on a windy day.

Long story short: i have lipstick on my upper lip, on my cheek and I don’t know how to edit these stuff away just yet, so please don’t mind it.. It happens.. No big deal.. Right? Aaaand also don’t mind my huge pimple friend who decided to show up, unannounced! I couldn’t say no, could I? That’s why I cropped the hell out of my poor forehead (wink wink).

Anyway, I hope this was helpful for some of you who are still struggling to find the perfect nude.

The one with all the colors

1 March 2017

After our beautiful engagement party, and since my fiancĂ© had to take a plane back home not long after, we thought it will be a great idea to spend the day in the beautiful Asilah. It’s just an hour away from where I live so it was quite a quick and smooth ride to there and back.
I paired my beloved Mango blush pink jumper with my new olive Zara coat and I threw in some black skinny jeans and booties.
The olive on top of the blush pink gave it a vibe that went well with the colorful Mediterranean-influenced houses and vivid art scenes in the pedestrian medina.
