I’ve been really into accessorizing lately, whether it’s a hat or some huge statements earrings! It basically transforms any boring outfit, which is amazing! Right?

5 reasons why I love it when it’s cold

21 October 2017

The summer is alright, I mean, I wouldn’t say I hate it, with a passion, I’ve been told ‘hate’ is a strong word, but it always gets too hot and sweaty, specially here in Morocco, and the next thing you know, your makeup's dripping off, and then you're desperately wishing for it to be over, am I right or am I right?!

Here are 5 reasons why I freaking love it when it’s cold:

Your make up slays all day:
Let’s be real here, no matter how many ‘heat proof makeup’ tutorials you watch, whatever primer or fix bla bla bla you’re using, your make up is going to crease and eventually smear off! You can never work with a sweaty face, and that ladies, is a FACT! But now that it’s getting a little bit cooler, my face stays pretty much the same after hours and hours and this makes me so happy!

You get to stay at home more:
Anyone who knows me personally knows that I’m such an introvert; and since people generally tend to spend less time outside in this glorious weather, I don’t really have to explain myself all the time when I stay at home. This weather totally makes me want to stay at home curled up in my bed and watching a good movie.

No mosquitoes:
For a very long time I’ve been bragging that I never get bitten by mosquitoes, but this summer, it was a different story, I don’t know what happened? They really made up for all the years that they’ve been leaving me alone! But now that it’s getting a little bit cooler, it’s kind of over! They’re not around as much anymore, I don’t know what happens to them though, do they die and go to hell?! Maybe I should google it… You know what? I don’t care! For now, I’ll live in peace.

Clean air:
Aaaahh clean crisp wintery air is my favorite type of air! Obviously! I love breathing in the cool, fresh air; there’s nothing quite like it for making me feel alive.

Sweaters and ankle boots:
Right?

WHAT I WORE:

JACKET: Stradivarius | TOP: Stradivarius | UMBRELLA: Mango (similar here) | HANDBAG: Parfois

The one with the perfect autumnal look #FOTD1

19 October 2017

I did it people! I chopped it all!

Well not all, but I did get a long bob or a LOB if you’re one of the cool kids. And you know what? I love it! I feel good, I feel free and I feel like a whole new person.
I was just getting tired of my very unhealthy long hair, and I thought this might help, and you know what? It did, I was right! For once J

But this post is not about my hair, it’s about this very easy beautiful autumnal look. I posted a few pictures of this look on my Instagram last week, and I got a lot of question about the products I used, and even requests for a tutorial, witch by the way, I tried to do multiple times but I failed miserably! I just don’t know how to edit the damn thing! Hopefully I’ll figure it out soon.

This look is all about a one Copper eye shadow Smokey eye, with bushy eyebrows, thanks to my dad, and a nude lip.

Since I have very hooded eyes, I love applying this coppery goodness very heavily along the bottom lash line as well as on the entire lid. I don't use too many black accents such as black eyeshadow or liner just because I want the look to be more about the copper shadow, so it’s more noticeable and striking, and because I’m lazy AF too.

Products I used:

FACE:

NYX Powder blush in Taupe for contouring

EYES AND EYEBROWS:

URBAN DECAY naked basics palette: naked 2 eyeshadow to fill in my eyebrows.
URBAN DECAY naked 2 palette: CHOPPER eyeshadow.

LIPS:

CHARLOTTE TILBURY lip linear in Pillow Talk
MAC Cosmetics lipstick in Patisserie

The one with Afrae and procrastination

17 September 2017

So basically I’m a huge procrastinator, I always… always leave things that needs to be done until the very last minute, and I do this with E-V-E-R-Y-thing. If I have an exam on Monday, I will literally start studying that morning at 1 am, and I keep asking myself: why? WHYYYY?! I had the entire weekend to study! I should be sleeping right now, and I end up going to my exam looking like shit because I didn’t have time to run a brush through my hair.

And if I have to be somewhere at 5 pm, you’ll find me in my bed at 4 something googling Michael Scott’s hair! I got curious, in the first season, his hair was really thinning, I thought the guy was going bold, but then he didn’t, it’s like his hair grew back. So I was just trying to figure out if it is his real hair or not! And apparently, he had a hair transplant and it looks great! Now why do I care about Steve Carell’s damn hair at 4 something in the afternoon? No idea…
You see what I’m trying to say? It’s like I’m doing it on purpose!

Well, to be honest, I shouldn’t be too hard on myself. Even though I’m the queen of procrastinators, I managed to get 2 masters degrees, watched and re-watched the big bang theory, modern family, friends and the office when Michael Scott was still the manager like a 1000 times. So I cannot say I did nothing! Right?

But I keep thinking, if I didn’t lose all this time, if I was being productive, or more focused on my studies, probably I would have achieved more. Not probably, for sure! Hmm it’s kinda depressing, thinking about it that way, so let’s not! Let’s make a change, now, or tomorrow, or next Monday, everything is possible if you have the will to commit to it! Says the girl who took a 10 min break from MONK’s marathon to finish this post, even though this is my third time watching it!
Why do I like re-watching stuff? I don’t get it! Okay, let’s leave this for another post.

Now you may ask yourself what is the purpose of this post, did I overcome it? Am I going to give some advice, some wisdom I collected throughout my years of being a full time procrastinator? Nop! I thought I can share this for all of my procrastinators out there, you’re not alone kids! YOU ARE NOT!

as always, thank you for reading and see you next week!

The one where Afrae starts using an oil!

5 September 2017

So the other day, I went to my local Para pharmacy to repurchase my everyday moisturizer because it seems like I need a tube every two to three weeks! That’s how dry my skin is! Anyway, this shimmering goodness caught my eye, and I made an impulse purchase, which, to be honest, sounds a lot like me, except this time it wasn’t a regret!

I’ve never tried oils before, I always stick to lotions and moisturizers whether it is for my hair or my body…  and since I got a little bit of a tan that I’m so proud of this summer, I wanted something to show it off even more, and this little shimmery thingy was just the perfect way to do it.
NUXE Huile Prodigieuse Or: A multi-purpose dry oil, so it works for your face, body and hair. And it’s basically a mixture of 6 precious botanical oils that nourishes, softens and illuminates your skin. Goodness! Don’t we all need that!
So whenever I have my shoulders out or a little bit of décolletage going on, I always use this little guy. I also tried mixing it with my foundation, and guess what? Works like magic!
If you’re in the market for a dry oil, or maybe you’re looking for a touch of shimmer, very settle shimmer, I totally recommend this one.

The one with Afrae and Hamas's go-to makeup look

31 August 2017

This is my third attempt to make a blog post/ video type thingy for my go to make up at the moment, so let’s all pray to the lord this post will see the light of the day! Ameen

So my best friend and my number one fan Hamas came for a quick summer vacation to see her family and me obviously (cough... cough), and while I was staying with her for our annual get together week full of gossip and deep conversations about makeup, the meaning of life and everything in between, we filmed a get ready with me video in her parent’s amazing backyard and took some pictures for this post!
and since we both have similar taste I would say, or maybe we like the same finish but we use totally different product I thought it will be more helpful to see what we both use, and see the final results.
For Hamas, it’s all about creams and a very natural glowy finish, for me I prefer powders and a more contoured sculpted face, but still very natural finish.

The one with my top foundations

31 July 2017

I love make up in any shape or form, I love how you can enhance your already existing features, and why not transform yourself, paint on those cheekbones sister! Life is too short!
For me, since I first started wearing makeup, or should I say, discovering the world of makeup, it was all about glowy and radiant skin. To this day, I often do my base and I just skip the eyes completely, it looks so fresh and natural.
In this post I’m going to show you my top foundations that I absolutely love.

Out of the four I’d say that this one is my most-used at the moment. The coverage is very light , but it gives so much glow it practically leaves the skin looking glossy. And if you know me, you’ll know that I’m all about that dewiness since I have super dry skin. I have the shade 1 fair, perfect for wintery days, but I’m tempted to get a darker shade for the summer time, although I can still get away with it by adding a bit of bronzer.

This one is so popular, I had to get one!
I would say it has a medium coverage, although I’m pretty sure you can build it up to a full coverage. For me, it’s definitely not my daily go-to, because I require something with a little more dew. It has something about it witch is luminous but without shine. It creates that lovely flawless look without ever looking heavy or dense. I use it in shade 2.
Fun fact: It does photograph beautifully, I wore it in my katbktab and it looked amazing in pictures and also in real life.

This was my first ever high-end foundation, I don’t use it as much lately, but it’s definitely an everyday kinda base. It leaves a sheer tint on the skin that just evens everything out and it does so whilst being extremely undetectable. I have the shade B10, perfect for summer, and I just mix it with my Lancôme concealer in the winter time.

The best drugstore foundation out there, it has a gel formula witch I’m obsessed with, amazing for dry skin! I have the shade 51, perfect for summer but a little bit too dark for me in the winter time.

What are your favorite foundation of all time?

The one with me in a T

5 July 2017

There’s not much of a ‘story’ behind this post, just a quick stroll around medina with my beautiful friend Maroua, taking pictures, soaking up the sun, sweating, having a laugh, and taking pictures again.

WHAT I WORE:

T-SHIRT: Shana (can't find it) | TROUSERS: Zara (similar here) | SANDALS: Zara (on sale now) | HANDBAG: Parfois (bought it in the sale a month ago)

I’m not a t-shirt wearer usually, since I always feel like it’s not the most flattering style on me. I mostly go for something that fits my upper body and hits right at the smallest part of my waist to accentuate my hourglass figure.
And since this T is kinda baggy, I just tucked it in my high waist Zara trousers that I love to create that little waist thingy! Although, I must say, all my trying to cinch up the waist went out the window since it was so windy, and I basically looked like a puffed up balloon all afternoon.

I guess summer dressing is all about comfort and staying cool, And I seriously felt like I am in my PJs all the time. I’m glad it didn’t look bad at all.

Also I’m going through a phase, no eye makeup, I do my skin, and I just leave the eyes bare, and I don’t know why I love it so much. Looks super natural!
Thank you for stopping by and I hope you're having a great week so far !

The one with #Allblackeverything !

16 June 2017

Marrakesh, Morocco
#Allblackeverything ! Well almost!

These shots were captured one morning, just outside our hotel, by my beautiful husband. I really wanted to photograph this outfit in daylight even though it was like 40 degrees that day in Marrakech. So let’s pretend that I don’t look like a tomato that is about to burst!

I’m obsessed with the monochromatic dressing trend lately; it’s so simple yet so chic and polished. I loved pairing these Zara black high waist trousers with a matching frilled sleeve shirt, and I threw in my nude mules and my beloved Zara bag that I wear almost every day.

This is definitely not a wise outfit pick for a day out in the summer time in a city like Marrakech, you will suffocate!  This is more for a dinner in a nice restaurant that has air conditioning.

I changed into my swimming suit right away and went straight to the pool because that’s all you can do during the day when it’s boiling hot! But I did wear it that night for dinner and it was lovely.

WHAT I WORE:

TOP: Zara | TROUSERS: Zara | MULES: Call it spring | HANDBAG: Zara ( from 2 years ago)

Hope you’re having an amazing weekend.

The one with the blue pearl CHEFCHAOUEN

2 May 2017

I’m aliiiive !!! hooraaaay

First, a disclaimer: this is not a city guide, I suck at those, so much, it’s basically me rambling, and a LOT of pictures of the city, me and my cute new hat.

My fiancé came last week for a visit and for other boring wedding related stuff, and we went to visit the blue city: Chefchaouen. This is my second time visiting this piece of paradise on earth and it won’t be the last.

Now, because I’m a sleepy head and I need 2 hours to get ready, we arrived at around 3pm. We had a delicious lunch right away because I was starving and I was getting real cranky, and that is no fun for anyone, am I right?

Then we started exploring the beautiful place starting with the Kasbah museum working our way through the maze like alleys in the old medina painted all shades of blue with secret doors to locals’ homes, passing by colorful shops selling everything from herbs and spices to handmade leather goods and happy rainbowy rugs, to finally get to the natural source of water Ras El Ma. Aaaaahh it was magical!

Now why is it blue? Something to do with mosquitos or Hitler ¯\_()_/¯. I have no idea!

WHAT I WORE:

HAT: Parfois | BACKPACK: from Chefchaouen many years ago | DRESS: Zara (similar here) | PANTS: Zara (similar here) | TRAINERS: Adidas (similar here) | WATCH: Michael Kors
